Welcome
Mustard seeds are symbolically used in several parables in Matthew 13:31-32 in which Jesus uses these parables to educate, to teach, and to lead his flock. Many are unaware that mustard seeds are the smallest seed, but at muturity the seed becomes a very large bush.
31He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches.”
When I read these two verses, I believe Jesus is sending us a call to action to become disciples of the Lord. Jesus used this parable to show that the kingdom has small beginnings but will grow and produce great results. Therefore, we all have a responsibility to become disciples by becoming active in religious education.
As Matthew Kelly says:
“Christianity is not an excuse for complacency and laziness. Now that you are working for God, you must work harder than ever at everything you do. ”
Now is the time to become active and spread the mustard seeds……
Great Blessings,
Michelle
